Hi, I’m Laurens.
I am currently working on the research of what will one day become my PhD thesis. My research focusses on the intersection between data mining, climate physics and energy science. In my research I focus on those weather situations that might harm the electricity grid when a high percentage of a renewable energy source is present, in which past, current and future climate are considered.
With my work I hope to contribute to increasing our understanding of the influence of weather and climate on our current and future energy system.
I am open to discussing possible research collaborations with anyone, student or other. I will help any students with questions they may have (within reason of course).
